Abstract :
In this article, we study a first order irreversible exothermic reaction under nonisothermal condition. It is one of the simplest systems capable of showing complex behaviour like multistability, oscillations and hysteresis. We have investigated this system in the presence of external drive and noise in the region where the system shows bistability. We demonstrate the phenomenon of stochastic resonance characterized by an enhancement of response of the system towards weak periodic drive in the presence of optimal noise.
