Abstract
In this paper, we propose a computer graphical software displaying the realistic curve of electric wires in overhead spans. When linemen work to fix wires at terminals in spans, the prediction and display of wire curves are very helpful for their construction tasks. We show the algorithm of obtaining a generalized catenary curve with bend, twist and boundary conditions of wires. Simultaneously, we show the computational algorithm of obtaining the maximum force of the wire due to tension, bend and twist. The proposed algorithms are derived by solving the optimization problem regarding the energy of the wire in the span subject to the boundary constraints
