  • Abstract
    A low cost electromagnetically coupled wide band Triangular Fractal Antenna appropriate for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications is presented. To achieve wideband frequency range, a rectangular partial ground plane along with the slots in radiating patch are employed. The four triangular shaped slots of scale 1/9 and one slot of scale 1/3 of original patch are embedded. The gain bandwidth of proposed antenna is further improved by using four small rectangular shaped slots in partial ground plane. The designed antenna is simulated using Finite Element Method (FEM) simulator HFSS and it is observed that there is improvement in gain bandwidth of 41.08% in the range of 7.63 GHz - 11.31 GHz.
