  • Abstract
Brushless doubly fed generator (BDFG) has outstanding advantages in wind power generation system because of its own merits, such as reliable structure, low system cost and so on. This paper presents a novel BDFG with hybrid rotor. Firstly, the magnetic field modulation mechanism of BDFG with hybrid rotor is analyzed. Then, the magnetic field modulation ability of hybrid rotor and magnetic barrier rotor are compared. On this basis, the hybrid rotor and magnetic barrier rotor which share the same stator are designed and manufactured. Finally, the experimental platform is built, and the no-load and load experimental results of these two prototypes are analyzed and compared, respectively. The experimental results prove that the BDFG has the more excellent operation performance.
