Abstract :
The temperature investigation for conical rotor motor is relative important at the design step to insure the safety operation. This paper presents a transient thermal analysis mainly based on the lumped parameter thermal network (LPTN). Because the complex structure of the rotor, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is adapted to simulate the fluid flow condition in order to achieve accurate heat transfer coefficients and, Then, these coefficients are applied to the LPTN model. Finally, the accuracy of the results is verified by the temperature test, and good agreements are achieved.
