Abstract :
The armature reaction has a significant impact on the operating characteristics of the four-phase doubly salient electro-magnetic generators (DSEG). In this paper, the mathematical model of the excitation magnetic potential and the armature reaction magnetic potential of the DSEG is presented to analyze the static armature reaction. The finite element method is used to get the flux, current and voltage waveforms. And the waveform distortion caused by armature reaction is analyzed with the presented voltage equation. The finite element analysis and the prototype experiments of single-tube open-circuit were carried out. The tested current waveforms with armature reaction verify the simulation results and confirm the theoretical analysis and the method of the finite element analysis.
