Abstract :
The objective of this paper is to reveal the current distribution in parallel superconducting tapes with different lengths. A 10 cm tape and a 15 cm tape are connected in parallel. Their voltage drops and current distributions are measured. The limited current in the 15 cm tape is I1 and the limited current in the 10 cm tape is I2. The result of I1 / I2 is 0.77 in the experiment. The result of I1 / I2 in the simulation is 0.80, which supports the experiment result. The I1 / I2 ratio of 0.77 reveals a more evenly current distribution than the ratio of 0.67 shared by two resistors connected in parallel with a length of 15 cm and a length of 10 cm. The current in parallel superconducting tapes tends to rebalance in this imbalance situation.
