Abstract :
A new type of tightly coupled tilted dipole array element (TTCDA) is proposed in this paper. The tilted dipole antenna, connected with interdigital capacitors, has stronger coupling than the one connected directly by the end. The antenna consists of two dipole arms and four cross-type parasitic striplines, and fed by an exponential parallel balun which transforms the input impedance from 50Ω to 200Ω. The antenna is simulated in the infinite*infinite conditions through periodic boundary and the antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 2.15GHz - 9.67GHz when scanning to ±45° for VSWR≤3 and low cross polarization of <;-20dB over the major of the band.
