Abstract :
In this paper, a novel Ku-band bandpass filter using triple-mode resonator is presented. It has compact size and easy to be fabricated. The measured result shows that the proposed novel Ku-band bandpass filter using triple-mode resonator has a good performance. The insertion loss at the center frequency of 17.25GHz is 0.53dB and 3dB bandwidth is from 15.6GHz to 20.5GHz. Its bandwidth is about 4.9GHz and the fractional bandwidth is about 28.41%. In addition, the triple-mode resonator is used as coupling unit and resonant unit. The size of this Ku-band filter without feeding lines is only 6.8×4.5mm2 (0.58λg*0.38λg in which λg is the guided wavelength of 50Ω microstrip at the center frequency). The measured results are compatible with the simulated results well.
