Abstract
The objective of the present work was to test a new prototype cooling adsorption machine with silicagel/water under laboratory conditions in order to verify the feasibility and the progress of different processes of the adsorption refrigeration cycle. The system proposed in this study consisted of a tubular adsorbent bed, a condenser, and an evaporator. The working operation parameters of the cooling adsorption system were tested successfully. Test results showed that the evaporator temperature reached +3 °C, and the condensing temperature reached around 37 °C. Moreover, the COP of the adsorption refrigeration system was about 0.07 under the laboratory working conditions. Also, the effect of the silicagel temperature on the evaporation phase was presented and discussed.
