Abstract
Interrupted-sampling and direct transmitting scatter-wave jamming(SWJ) can form multiple false targets to Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar(ISAR), while pseudo-random sequence phase-modulation spreads the spectrum of modulated signal. In this paper we propose an active quasi-coherent depress jamming signal by combination of the two methods. The jammer firstly intercepts the radar signal by interrupted-sampling pulse and then transmits the modulated jamming signal to protected target. It is demonstrated that noise image will be induced after target scatters the jamming signal back to ISAR. This jamming signal forms multiple noise-like false targets in range direction. Simulation results validate the correctness of the idea and give some ideas to engineering implementation of ISAR jammer.
