Abstract :
Design of low probability of intercept (LPI) signal waveform is an important issue in design of LPI radar systems. Pulse compression waveforms having large time-bandwidth product are a kind of radar signals with good Radio Frequency (RF) stealth performance, and many pulse compression waveforms are investigated to reducing the radio frequency signals being intercepted, such as frequency hop code, phase code and etc. However, undesirable range sidelobes of these pulse compression waveforms generated by matched filter may mask small nearby targets. A sidelobe suppression algorithm by repairing Covariance Matrix for pulse compression LPI waveforms is presented in this paper, and the processing results of frequency hop codes illustrate that the high range sidelobes are successfully suppressed.
