Abstract
Scaling RCS measurement is widely used in military applications, but limited to perfect conductor. However, most of modern air platforms usually are coated with many thin layers of lossy coatings. In this paper, derivation of the scaling relationships of homogeneous lossy dielectric materials is conducted. Special cases for perfect conductor, perfect dielectrics, large-scale and wideband scale are described in detail. Numerical simulations are carried out to validate the scaling relationship of homogeneous lossy dielectric materials. Near-zone and far-zone problem in the full-scale and scaled case are discussed to further state the scaling relationship.
