Abstract :
This article investigates both experimental and simulation data of a planar compact CPW-fed antenna. The antenna size can be reduced greatly by a set of interdigitated slits and the impedance bandwidth can be significantly increased by using the proper ground plane size of the CPW. Ground effects on the characteristics of the proposed antenna are also analysed. Comparative results of different ground dimensions of CPW and spacings between the ground of the CPW and the antenna are presented and discussed.
