Abstract :
In this paper, a novel broadband planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) for application in the W-CDMA mobile terminal is presented. Computer-aided design (CAD) tools are employed to simulate the performance characteristics of PIFA, such as return loss, impedance match and frequency bandwidth. Finally, the experimental results show that the bandwidth is 250 MHz from 1.92 GHz∼2.17 GHz, VSWR<2.0 and the gain is about 4 dbi. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulation data.
