Abstract :
A UWB radar pulse detector concept was evaluated in simulation, and was then tested with an in-house setup for experimental UWB link. The simulations were across 3.1-10.6 GHz, the working prototypes (pulse generator, directional coupler, Vivaldi antenna, LNA, pulse detector) that composed the proof of concept were referenced and the UWB link operated across 2.8-5.2GHz, showing that the use of COTS hardware enables the low cost and low complexity RF design for UWB applications with respectable performances.
