Abstract
A 20-40 GHz doubly-balanced mixer was designed for high-speed wireless communications. In the design, a modified planar Marchand balun was employed to have wide bandwidth while keeping compact size. The circuit was implemented with TRW 0.15 μm PHEMT foundry and the chip takes 2.5×2 mm2. The simulated conversion loss is 10 dB, and port-to-port isolation greater than 50 dB from 20 to 40 GHz. Measurement was also conducted
