Abstract
Asmall scale power grid combining various distributed energy resources to form a whole system that can operate independently or in conjunction with the main grid is considered. Proposed model is a grid connected hybrid system consisting of photovoltaic (PV) cells and fuel cells. Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a device used to protect the system against sudden changes in voltage. Voltage sag/swell introduced in the system can be compensated using DVR as it injects required amount of compensating voltage. Models for each component are developed and combined to form the hybrid system using MATLAB/Simulink and waveforms are studied. Then control in voltage is analysed using proposed DVR control strategy. Proposals are validated through simulation studies using MATLAB.
