Abstract
Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) Rectifiers have gained the popularity during recent years for the ac to dc conversion needs of the industry, customer and power grid sectors. This bidirectional convereter can acts as an ac to dc boost rectifier with near unity power factor at the grid side along with regulated and ripple free dc voltage at the output. This paper presents voltage oriented control of the three phase PWM rectifier with Bus Clamped Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation(BCSVPWM) to reduce the switching loss and to improve the performance. The performance of the rectifier with BCSVPWM has been compared with the conventional Sine PWM(SPWM) and the regular Space Vector PWM (RSVPWM)techniques. The input current harmonics, Switching loss, Output dc voltage range and the dynamic performance are analysed with MATLAB/Simulink and better results are obtained with the propoded method.
