Abstract :
Here, a single-stage single-switch AC/DC converter is analyzed. It integrates a buck converter for power factor correction and buck-boost converter for voltage regulation. Because of buck converter, intermediate bus voltage is less and it leads to less component stress. Absence of transformer leads to less component count and cost. Due to direct power transfer feature, high conversion efficiency is achieved. Closed loop operation of this converter is done and successfully tested by using MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation result shows the improvement of power factor and tight output voltage regulation using the integrated buck-buck-boost converter.
