  • Abstract
Present paper analyses the metallic particle movement inside a three phase gas insulated system (GIS) using different gas mixtures. In order to reduce the green house effects occurred by SF6 the gas mixture was used as insulating medium. The mixture gas is a combination of SF6 and any of the other gases like Co2/Air/N2. A mathematical representation was developed for simulating the metallic particle movement inside the enclosure by taking various mechanical and electrical parameters such as gravitational force, electrostatic force, drag force, particle geometry into account. The Range kutta iterative method is used to solve obtained mathematical expression and analytical method is used for computing the electric field. The simulation was carried out for various gas mixtures with copper conducting particle inside GIS enclosure.
