Abstract :
A unique design of photonic crystal fiber (PCFs) has been investigated. The structure of the PCF is chosen such that is consists of equal area of elliptical air holes and circular air holes. The arrangement is such that only the central axis of the designed fiber consists of circular air holes and the perpendicular central axis also consists of circular air holes. Other than these two, all the other air holes are elliptical in shape. The designed fiber shows anomalous dispersion behavior at first and second optical windows. Moreover the birefringence reported the fiber is higher. It is to be noted that the maximum power confined in the core of the fiber. The designed fiber also reports very low loss.
