Abstract :
Fingerprint recognition plays an important role as personal identification mark. Fingerprint is more popular when compared to other identities in case of capturing images but at the same time they can be easily blurred with noise and distortion. This paper highlights the removal of noise and distortion with filtering techniques it is further extemporized with zhang suen thinning algorithm. The results are analyzed and it clearly depicts Zhang Suen thinning reduces the terminations and bifurcations count when compared to morphological thinning.
