Parylene conformal coatings for printed circuit board applications

With the advent of electronic PCB´s being used in an ever increasing variety of applications, e.g. automotive ignition and engine control, industrial processing, petrochemical control systems, military and aerospace, etc., it becomes apparent a good environmental and/or mechanical protection is needed for PCB´s. The purpose of this paper is to explain the reasons parylene coatings can be of advantage as a conformal coating for PCB´s.
