Barriers to the application of knowledge management in Iranian institutions

Knowledge management in Iranian institutions is a new and dynamics subject. Unfortunately this phenomenon in Iranian institutions has grown slowly and as a result, it has reached to the point where we can see the death of knowledge in different levels of organizations and it and has led to their inefficiency and ineffectiveness. This article strives to articulate in main barriers to the replacement of knowledge management in institutions. At the end, attempts are made to analyze knowledge management process through process approach and identify the barriers and difficulties. Then through information obtained from one hundred and fourteen selected institutions in Iran, proper recommendations are suggested to rectify them.
