Abstract :
In order to improve the output power of terahertz traveling-wave tubes (TWTs), a slow wave structure (SWS) named arbitrary staggered multi-vane slow wave structure is proposed in this paper. The SWS is suitable for the double sheet electron beams operation, and there is no coupling between the double electron beams. Based on this kind of SWS, a high-power 220 GHz TWT driven by the double electron beam is investigated. A suitable Y-branch waveguide is put forward to overcome the difficulties for designing the input/output structure of this double beam traveling-wave tubes (DBTWTs).
