Abstract :
One of the key issues for Extended Enterprise (EE) could be a trend towards identifying suppliers before designing component of parts to be supplied. Concurrent Engineering (CE) input to a product requires trust and collaboration in terms of confidentiality and subsequent cost negotiations with the suppliers. EE goes far beyond these two very important and crucial issues to enterprise partnership. It also requires a mechanism that will enable members of EE to form strategic collaboration. This paper will provide a reference model and will suggest a strategic planning procedure to support progress towards Extended Enterprise (EE).
