Abstract :
The synthesis and design of a high-speed current-mode analog microelectronic circuit solution for the implementation of a general-purpose feedforward one-cycle controller suited to Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost switching power converters is presented. The current-mode operation allows extending the operation margin in terms of switching frequency in front of previous existing design approaches. The circuit is composed of externally linearized transconductors based on current conveyors, a current-mode integrator and a transimpedance high-speed comparator. Both system-level and full-transistor-level simulations for a CMOS 0.35 μm technology validate the high-speed functionality up to 10 MHz of the proposed one-cycle controller ASIC implementation
