GRID technologies for networked business: The GRID2(B2B) project

BEinGRID is an IST European Project aimed at running Business Experiments (BEs) designed to implement and deploy Grid solutions in industrial key sectors. In particular, GRID2(B2B) addresses the B2B Platform market, where customers and suppliers interact using network-based applications. GRID2(B2B) deployed Grid data management extensions, in order to significantly improve the capabilities of current B2B software. The GRID2(B2B) business experiment produced a prototype that has been successfully tested with significant industrial partners. The paper presents in detail the experiment architecture, the different software components high level structure, the results of the application of the prototype in the real life and the advantages of the presented solution compared to the other solutions currently available in the market.
