Abstract :
Many up to date techniques are involved in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). As an essential part of ITS, License Plate Recognition (LPR) is widely studied. Among the techniques used for LPR, image projection method is testified to be an effective means in obtaining image feature in practice. However, image projection method could not solve all the problems in image identification. For instance, grayscale feature could not be gathered with image projection method. This paper introduces differential integral projection to solve this problem. The proposed Novel License Plate Recognition Algorithm (NLPRA) is introduced and also tested in this paper. The result is good and is able to prove the accuracy as well as the efficiency of NLPRA.
