Abstract :
The reliable operation of splices for extruded dielectric 35 kV cable is dependent upon factors of material, design, and installation. An inter-related factor is testing of materials and designs for evaluation of service performance. Emphasis is placed upon electrical testing of selected materials, incorporation into design geometries for tolerable dielectric stresses, and electrical testing of designs to obtain indices of service performance.
