Important factors in the design & use of premolded splices

Summary form only given. The interrelationship of the material properties and the function of premolded splice components is analyzed. It is hoped this analysis will lead to an improved understanding of premolded splices and their universally acknowledged success. Desirable improvements in material properties and the benefits such properties could yield in premolded splices are also discussed. Although emphasis is on materials throughout this paper, the design of premolded splices and operating characteristics are necessarily included.
