Abstract
As ubiquitous networked devices continue to play an increasing role in the daily lives of most people, there is a growing desire to share ever more information and perspectives from across the world. Traditional social-networking services, such as Facebook, allows people to share information. Similarly, online classified systems like Craigslist helps people to buy/sell items with others. However, there are privacy and security problems lurk behind both social networking and community-based classified systems. First, there is no way that enables people to share personal information directly and easily in a decentralized manner. Second, the anonymity inherent in the community-based classifieds doesn´t provide any safeguard to the user. To address this need, we propose a Trustworthy and Communal Social Classifieds(TCSC) over HTTP and Wi-Fi networks. Our TCSC provides the functionality for both HTTP and Wi-Fi, and users can publish classifieds freely without being censored by the centralized administrator. In addition, TCSC guarantees better protection to all users of the community.
