The Chinese Characters Extraction Method Based on Area Voronoi Diagram in Inscription

Using computer technology to process the ancient calligraphy tablet images has a very important significance. This paper discusses the extraction of Chinese character from stele. According to the inscription image Characters distribution characteristics, we firstly introduce a Chinese character location method based on Area Voronoi Diagram. Then, aimed at the arrangement of the structure of the ancient tablets, some character segmentation methods are combined to form a simple and effective character segmentation method for inscription image. The experimental results show that this method is effective, and have the ability of anti-noise to some extent.
