Abstract :
Touch less interaction has received considerable attention in recent years with benefit of removing the burden of physical contact. In this paper, gestures based bimanual interaction with different tools such as clipping plane, cutting super quadric and layer filter for exploring the rhesus macaque MRI data are designed to perform the similar tasks in our daily life bimanually. We employ the GPU based volume ray casting by trapezoid-shaped transfer function for the rhesus macaque volume visualization and interaction. Especially, we use the focus +context technique to achieve better layer inspection in ROI while preserving the context. Evaluation is conducted to compare the effectiveness and intuitiveness of our bimanual interaction with an obvious advantage over unimanual in usability and timesaving when performing continuous exploration task.
