Magnet wire temperature at overload conditions

With the recognition of overload resistance as a distinct and separate property, much has been added to the knowledge of magnet wire film performance. While various investigations^1–5 have resulted in the classification of film insulations according to their resistance to overload, it has also been learned^6–8 that this property does not necessarily correlate with long term thermal stability.
