Abstract :
The modulation of wind leads to a strip distribution of the ocean surface roughness. There always exist small scale wind streak in the navigation radar image. This paper investigates the radar imaging theory of wind modulation procedure, the small scale wind streak image have been extracted through low-past filter using the measured data, the scale and period of the wind streak can be determined simultaneously. The results show that the real wind modulation images coincide with our theory assumption. Finally, we find the lower limit of small scale wind streak is 200m, the lifetime is approximately more than ten minutes.
