Abstract :
Parallelizing error diffusion is a difficult task because of its inherently serial character in the original form. In this paper, we describe an error compensation strategy for parallel error diffusion. In our method, original image is split into independent blocks. In order to compensate for the missing errors around the boundary of blocks, overlapping areas and initial error of boundary pixels are all introduced. Experimental results show that the proposed method generates high quality images similar to that of the original algorithm.
