Abstract :
We investigate the dynamic characteristics of oil-water two-phase flow in small diameter pipes in terms of chaotic attractor comparison method, and we find that the attractor comparison statistic changes along with the flow patterns. In particular, this statistic is very sensitive to the oil-in-water flow pattern and the very fine dispersed oil-in-water flow pattern, for which is very difficult to distinguish from conventional method. The results indicate that the attractor comparison statistic is a very effective index to reveal the intrinsic dynamic mechanism of the oil-waterwater two-phase flow in small diameter pipes.
