Abstract :
Many mobile users do not satisfy with the indoor coverage. A bad indoor coverage caused by many factors. The most important reasons are the complicated indoor environment is not taken into consideration when planning 4G network deployment and arbitrary positions are selected to install small cells. To achieve a better performance, optimizing the location of small cells is indispensable. In the paper, a multi wall model (MWM) is proposed to simulate a real indoor environment. An algorithm based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to optimize the positions of small cells. Then the simulation is carried out in a cabin scenario to realize a wide-range coverage of a ship and the simulation results prove that proposed algorithm is feasible.
