Abstract :
A second-order accurate, two-dimensional, unstructured grids numerical model for the suspended sediment transport was developed based on the discontinuous Galerkin method. The results of the ideal example of rectangular concentration showed that the proposed model has the ability to capture discontinuity of concentration. The model was further carried out to simulate the processes if sediment entrainment and transport at the sand bed in a flume. The comparison between the simulated results and laboratory measurements showed good agreement. The model could be used to describe two-dimensional suspended sediment transport.
