Abstract
To simulate the water entry process, numerical method by solving Reynolds-averaged Navier- Stokes equations coupled with Mixture model and dynamic mesh technology is presented. The dynamics of the water entry right cylinder and cylinder with 135° cone nose at the velocity of 60m/s is simulated. The cavity evolution, impact forces and pressure distribution during water entry are studied, and the influence of head shape is discussed. The results show that the surface closure time of cone cylinder is earlier than right cylinder. The impact force keeps nearly steady except the beginning time, and the force of cone cylinder is smaller than right cylinder.
