Abstract :
The paper describes Condition Monitoring (CM) and fault analysis of three phase electric motor particularly Induction Motor (IM) using LabVIEW™ based Data Acquisition (DAQ) system. The proposed Smart Power Analyzer (SPA) is capable of real time monitoring and recording of various electrical and mechanical parameters such as voltage, current, power, energy, power factor, frequency, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), shaft speed and torque at various motor loading conditions. The Power Quality (PQ) analysis and electrical fault detection such as sag, swell, interruption, harmonics and phase unbalance were studied. The various signal processing techniques such as Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet Transform (WT) are used for assessment of power quality disturbances.
