Abstract :
A major problem faced by systems having constant DC battery source, like hybrid electric vehicles is that supply voltage is weakened during higher speeds, thus limiting the system performance. A dual inverter fed open end winding induction motor can be used to mitigate this problem to an extend. In this paper, one of the inverters is fed using a floating capacitor, so that the supply voltage is maintained at a constant level. 3-level output is obtained from dual 2 level inverters.
