Abstract :
As a new kind of sensor material, because of its unique advantages, the applications of Fiber grating continue to expand, especially in the strain measurement application of structural surface. At present, the main problems of fiber grating sensor are low strain transfer efficiency and poor repeatability in strain measurement of structural surface. A new tool used to paste fiber grating is designed to solve these problem in this paper. An experiment was designed. Six fiber grating sensors were pasted on the equal strength beam. Three of them use tool to paste it, while the other three sensors paste it by hand. Apply load on the free end of the beam, record the change of the center wavelength of the sensor, and then calculate the strain transfer efficiency of each sensor. According to the experiment, this new tool is proved that it can solve the problem of fiber grating on low strain transfer efficiency and poor repeatability in the strain measurement of structural surface.
