Abstract :
3D printing is a kind of direct manufacturing technology, based on digital model files which can make almost any shape of 3D entities. Nowadays, this technology has been used in jewelry, footwear, industrial design, architecture, engineering, education, geographic information system and other fields. There is no doubt that 3D printing will bring a revolutionary impact on manufacturing. With the rapid development of 3D printing industry, in a global environment, it becomes possible to build different 3D printing processing platforms in different areas. Aiming at ensure the stability and the effectiveness of massive 3D printers in wide-area environment, 3D printing operation condition monitoring platform, based on the Internet of things, is proposed. The key technologies in the platform, like various ways of information collection, the Internet of things and information transmission of massive 3D printers and the construction of a remote monitoring center, are described in detail. Through the instance of small 3D printing processing workshops, the Internet of things as well as the remote monitoring of many 3D printers is realized, which verifies the validity of the scheme. It has great significance to improve efficiency and realize the global 3D printing condition monitoring and remote diagnosis.
