Abstract :
Electromechanical converters (EMCs) are considered to be the most frequently employed linear motion mechanism in various industry fields. This study tries to improve the magnetic force characteristics of an EMC, focusing on the key component, permanent magnet (PM) of the EMC, different magnetization techniques of single PM and different magnetization array of multiple PMs are compared, and a novel EMC magnetized alone the external field force lines using 8 pieces Halbach array is proposed as well. The analysis on three-dimension magnetic field of the EMC shows that the magnetic force between the coil and the single PM increases by 36.07%, and the magnetic induction generated by the 8 pieces Halbach array arrives at the maximum value. Compared with a widely used array of 2 pieces radial array, the magnetic force of 8 pieces Halbach array is increased by 14.81%.
