Abstract :
These days, renewable energy has been developed drastically because of the depletion of natural resources. One of them is solar cell, or photovoltaic cell. It has been extremely studied and received lots of attention for energy harvesting. As portable device has been given the attention, organic photovoltaic cells (OPV) have been rapidly emerging for the following-generation flexible power source due to their unique properties such as flexibility, light-weight, cost-effectiveness, and being environmental friendly. For these great reasons, OPV can be integrated on textiles. In this study, we developed an OPV based on textiles. In addition, we suggest design of the optimized photovoltaic textile and theoretical approach to determine the contact area on a textile electrode. By the results of calculation, we got about 13 mA cm-2 under 1 Sun condition, resulting in the PCE of approximately 2 % of the short circuit current density. We expect that OPV-clothes will be commercialized soon.
