Abstract :
Condensation is widely accepted heat transfer system for industries and process. Sometimes condensation phenomenon lead to problems for the processes. In some industries such as dyeing chamber, condensation water on the upside down surface occur the problems. The particular problems by condensation water is related to the water retention capacity of the up side down surface and also dynamics of condensation water. In order to control the flow of condensation water on upside down surface, the nanoengineered superhydrophilic and superhydrophobic surfaces must be used. The superhydrophilic and superhydrophobic surfaces were fabricated by several methods. Condensation rate of water on upside down surface was calculated to obtain the water retention capacity and comparison of each types of surfaces. The superhydrophilic surface is proposed as the effective surface in terms of water retention capacity and flow of condensation water, which can be applied to the upside down surface for the industries.
