  • Abstract
    Drowsiness detection system is based on identifying suitable driver-related and/or vehicle related variables that are correlated to the drivers level of drowsiness. International statistics shows that a large number of road accidents are caused by driver fatigue. Therefore, a system that can help to increase vigilance of the driver and make him alert from fatigue state by issuing timely warning could help to prevent many accidents, and consequently save money and reduce personal suffering. In this report, various method to detect driver fatigue have been described, which are non-intrusive and intelligence is provided by using soft computing tools. The pros and cons of each method have been explained and conclusions have been drawn from the same.
